New Orleans-based Phelps and Dunbar, a firm with a 150+ year history in the South, has expanded into Dallas. The move continues the pattern of expansion the firm has established over the past 30 years and is the 11th office location.
Firmwide managing partner Michael Hunt noted that the new office will allow the firm to better serve existing clients in Dallas and Fort Worth. Expanding on that point, he said: “Our new Dallas/Fort Worth team brings specialized skills that serve the development of public and private infrastructure. In addition, they provide capabilities in litigation, intellectual property, labor and employment, insurance, real estate and tax that complement our firm’s signature practices.”
The new office will be staffed by an experienced legal team, recruited from Cantey Hanger. Matthew Terrell, a commercial litigator, has been named the office managing partner. He is joined by Blake Bailey, Mark Daniel, Robert Doby, Alan Duncan, and Christopher Jones. The attorneys bring a diverse array of skills in litigation, real estate, tax, and corporate law.
