Polsinelli Shughart Adds Bankruptcy Capabilities to Dallas

Less than a year after opening a Dallas office, national law firm Polsinelli Shughart expands services in Texas with the addition of bankruptcy attorney James H. Billingsley as shareholder. Highly respected in his field, Billingsley will focus on bankruptcy, loan enforcement and troubled company matters for clients in Texas and nationally.

“The firm’s national reputation in bankruptcy, loan enforcement and workouts was attractive to me and my clients,” said Billingsley. “I’m very glad to be with Polsinelli Shughart, one of the fastest growing law firms in the country and with resources coast to coast.”

In addition to bankruptcy and loan enforcement, Billingsley practices in the areas of troubled company issues, complex commercial litigation, state law creditor actions, avoidance litigation and insolvency litigation. He provides counsel to commercial banks, institutional investors, and others in a wide range of industries including banking, real estate, manufacturing and retail.

The Dallas office relocated to Saint Ann Court in March after opening an office last year. The Dallas office originated with three attorneys bringing corporate, health care and private equity capabilities to the firm in Texas. The firm’s office in Saint Ann Court has accommodations for 38 attorneys and staff.

“I’m very excited to be part of a team of attorneys building a first class law firm in Dallas,” said Billingsley.

Billingsley earned his law degree from the University of Texas School of Law-Austin in 1993, with honors, and his B.B.A. from the University of Texas Arlington in 1987, where he serves on the executive board of the alumni association.
