Polsinelli Shughart Adds Dallas Employee Benefits Law Attorney

Less than a year after opening a Dallas office, national law firm Polsinelli Shughart expands services in Texas with the addition of employee benefits law attorney Henry Talavera as shareholder. Highly accomplished in his field, Talavera focuses on executive compensation and ERISA, and assists employers with health reform compliance. His clients include oil and gas companies, Texas banks and nursing homes.

Talavera assists clients with the administration of all types of welfare plans and tax-qualified retirement plans. He represents clients before the IRS and U.S. Department of Labor with respect to employee benefit plan audits and voluntary correction procedure filings, and drafting and negotiating terms of merger and acquisition agreements. 
Talavera earned his law degree from the University of Maryland School of Law, and earned his bachelor of arts, magna cum laude, from the University of Mary Washington. Talavera is the Vice-Chair of the Employee Benefit Plans and Other Compensation Arrangements Group, which is part of the American Bar Association’s Section of Real Property, Trusts & Estate Law. He is admitted to the Bars of Maryland and Texas. When he is not practicing law, he is active in Dallas as a member of Leadership Dallas 2012. Highly recognized in his field, Talavera has been inducted as a Fellow in the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. He has also been included in Best Lawyers in Dallas, D Magazine, Texas Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America.
