Less than a year after opening a Dallas office, national law firm Polsinelli Shughart expands services in Texas with the addition of Dallas attorney Leane C. Medford as shareholder. Highly accomplished in her field, Medford focuses on commercial litigation and appeals. She is a Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America TM and the Texas Bar Foundation.
“This firm offers my clients the resources of one of the most respected law firms in the country coupled with a growing presence in Dallas,” said Medford. “I’m very excited to be here.”
Medford assists clients with a variety of litigation and appellate matters involving intellectual property disputes, copyright and source code enforcement, trade secrets, energy litigation and employment law matters. She has significant experience defending companies in federal and state multi-district litigation. She has earned a reputation as a pioneer in the use of technology at the trial and appellate level and on the effective use of e-briefs.
Medford earned her law degree from Baylor University School of Law, cum laude, and her B.S. in Psychology from Texas Christian University. She is very active in professional legal associations and is an active member of the American Bar Association and the Bars of Texas and Dallas.
Highly recognized in her field, Medford has been selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America, and in Texas Super Lawyers. She has been named as one of the “Top 50 Women Attorneys in Texas,” and in 2011, she was named one of the “Top 100 Attorneys in Dallas/Forth Worth.”
The Dallas office relocated to Saint Ann Court in March after opening an office last year. The office originated with three attorneys bringing corporate, health care and private equity capabilities to the firm in Texas. The firm’s office in Saint Ann Court has accommodations for 38 attorneys and staff. Currently, there are 10.
While the addition of a Dallas office is new for the firm, Polsinelli Shughart has a prior Texas connection. Former Dallas Congressman Martin Frost is a shareholder in the Washington, D.C. office of Polsinelli Shughart. Frost represented the Dallas-Ft. Worth area in the U.S. House of Representatives for 26 years (1979-2005) prior to joining the firm. During his time in Congress, Frost served as chairman of the House Democratic Caucus (the third ranking leadership position for House Democrats) and was dean of the Texas delegation in his last several terms in Congress.
“Polsinelli Shughart has a clear vision of what a law firm should be to successfully serve sophisticated but cost conscious clients. Polsinelli Shughart clients value our Midwestern rate structure,” said Medford. “We’re building a name for ourselves in Texas by doing things right.”
