Akin Gump today announced that Courtney S. York has joined the firm as a partner in its corporate practice in Dallas. Ms. York, previously a partner at Baker Botts, is a seasoned M&A practitioner with a strong industry focus in the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) industries.
“Courtney is a truly talented transactional lawyer. Ms. York handles a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, complex technology transactions, spin-offs and securities offerings. With a primary focus on representing companies in the TMT sector, she also advises clients regarding securities compliance, joint ventures, private equity investments, restructurings, debt and equity capital markets transactions and general corporate governance issues. She joins a corporate team at Akin Gump focused on advising companies and funds on a broad range of transactional matters.

Ms. York received her J.D., Order of the Coif, from the University of Texas School of Law, where she was a member of the Texas Law Review. She received her B.A. from the University of Texas.
