All three lawyers join DLA Piper from Andrews Kurth Kenyon LLP, where Katz served as chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment practice, as well as on the firm’s management committee, and Hoffman co-headed an interdisciplinary mergers and acquisitions dispute team. Katz will serve as the Dallas office managing partner.
“The addition of Marc, Rob and Isabel is a significant boost to our Dallas capabilities and signals our commitment to growing the office and our overall platform in Texas, which also includes Austin and Houston,” said John Gilluly, the regional managing partner of the firm’s Texas offices. “The addition of this stellar team and their extensive litigation and counseling experience will allow us to better serve our clients based in and doing business in Texas, as well as across the country and around the world.”
Katz and Crosby have a broad-based and sophisticated management-side labor and employment litigation practice, handling all types of employment disputes, as well as counseling and transactional matters. Their group has significant experience representing corporate clients in high-stakes trade secret and unfair competition litigation, fiduciary duty and partnership disputes, and collective and class action cases throughout the country, and has tried some of the largest and most sophisticated employment cases in the country.
“Marc and Isabel are accomplished attorneys who are ideally suited to complement our growing Employment practice,” said Michael Sheehan, DLA Piper’s global co-chair of Employment and chair of the US Employment practice. “As the dynamics of the workforce become more complex and the stakes increase for employers, their experienced counsel will be advantageous to our clients who are navigating complex employment litigation.”
Hoffman represents clients in all aspects of high-stakes commercial litigation, including disputes arising from mergers and acquisitions, disputes over representations and warranties, banking litigation, contract breach, fraud, construction, insurance coverage and bad faith claims, and class action suits.
“Rob has successfully handled many challenging cases in a broad range of complex litigation matters, and he is well-positioned to provide our clients with top-notch representation, particularly those that are involved in post-merger disputes, an especially valuable skill set given our leading position handling M&A deals around the world,” said James Brogan, co-chair of the firm’s US Litigation practice.
