Sean McKenna has joined the Dallas office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP as a shareholder in the Health & FDA Business Practice. McKenna, who is a former Assistant United States Attorney, has extensive experience in health care civil, criminal, and regulatory matters, investigations, enforcement actions, and litigation matters. This addition comes shortly after the recent hires of Corporate & Securities Associate Joshua Merrill and Tax Associate Josh Prywes, whose experience will further expand the office’s transactional offerings.

McKenna focuses his practice on health care enforcement and regulatory issues, representing individuals and providers under civil or administrative investigation by the Department of Justice, Offices of Inspector General, and Attorneys’ General Medicaid Fraud Control Units, as well as in criminal investigations and matters involving the United States and State Attorneys General. As a former 10-year Assistant United States Attorney, Associate Counsel to the Inspector General, and General Counsel for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, McKenna focuses his practice on matters involving the health care industry and regularly represents clients before Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial contractors. McKenna earned his J.D. from the University of Houston Law Center and his B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Merrill focuses his practice on public and private mergers and acquisitions, with an emphasis on representing private equity firms and their portfolio companies. Merrill earned his J.D. from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and his B.S. from Oklahoma State University.
Prywes focuses his practice on federal, multistate and local tax planning and implementation for both U.S. and foreign companies. He has advised a variety of businesses on the tax implications of inbound and outbound transactions. Prywes earned his LL.M. in Taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, his J.D. from the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and his B.A. from Emory University.
