Phelps Dunbar LLP is pleased to announce that J. Jeffrey Cash has joined Phelps Dunbar’s Dallas/Fort Worth office as a partner specializing in complex business transactions, including securities, mergers and acquisitions, strategic alliances, joint ventures, private equity investments as well as general corporate counseling.
Josef P. Reimer has also joined the firm’s Dallas/Fort Worth office as counsel specializing in real estate, complex business transactions and general corporate representation. Mr. Reimer also practices in the areas of corporate formation and governance, commercial finance, and corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Cash has broad experience in the transactional arena with a strong emphasis on mergers & acquisitions and private equity. He has diverse experience advising public and private companies, boards of directors, private equity groups and high net-worth individuals in complex transactions as well as day-to-day business affairs.
Mr. Cash’s clients include restaurant franchisees, manufacturing companies, retail companies, private family offices, high net-worth individuals, and small technology start-ups. His experience also includes advising private equity groups in fundraising, acquisitions, and post-acquisition counseling for numerous portfolio companies. He also has extensive experience advising boards of directors for companies in general and special situations, including matters before the Securities & Exchange Commission and FINRA.
Mr. Cash has been practicing law in the Dallas/Fort Worth areas since 1997. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1997, where he was a member of the Order of Barristers and on the Moot Court Board, and his bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Louisiana State University in 1992.
Mr. Reimer has extensive experience representing clients in commercial real estate transactions, with an emphasis on commercial lease transactions and the purchase and sale of real property, and has represented developers in real estate development issues.
He earned his J.D. from the University of Notre Dame Law School in 2004 and his bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in business law and public relations from Syracuse University in 2001. He most recently served as a partner with Brown, Pruitt, Wambsganss, Ferrill & Dean, P.C. in Fort Worth, Texas.
