Sherman & Howard L.L.C., a national law firm and one of the oldest and most successful firms headquartered in the Rocky Mountain region, today announced the addition of attorney David B. Wilson as a member in its Denver office. Mr. Wilson formerly was a partner in the Denver office of Bryan Cave HRO, and his practice focuses on preventing and solving business and employment disputes nationally and internationally, including both international litigation and arbitration.
“David Wilson is a tremendous addition to Sherman & Howard,” said R. Michael Sanchez, chief executive of Sherman & Howard. “David’s experience as a successful trial lawyer working in the energy and natural resources, telecommunications, e-commerce and technology industries is a great fit with our firm. David’s experience will allow us to focus more on our international arbitration work. We look forward to having his expertise available to our clients.”
Sherman & Howard’s International Arbitration and Litigation lawyers include the former General Counsel of a major U.S. corporation (who managed international business disputes and supervised outside counsel for more than 20 years), advocates who regularly handle international disputes in the U.S. and abroad, and arbitrators who are panel members for the International Centre for Dispute Resolution and other arbitral institutions, are Fellows of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and in the database of the London Court of International Arbitration.
Mr. Wilson, who is both a Colorado lawyer and a Solicitor of the Senior Courts of England and Wales, is listed in The International Who’s Who of Commercial Arbitration, Guide to the World’s Leading Experts in Commercial Arbitration, and Colorado Super Lawyers. He is a member of the American Law Institute, serves on the Executive Committee of the North American Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, and chairs both the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the Chartered Institute and the Rocky Mountain Subcommittee of the USCIB Arbitration Committee. He is a member of the U.S. delegation to the ICC Commission on Arbitration, the American Arbitration Association’s National Roster of Arbitrators, and the ICDR Panel of Arbitrators and Mediators. His practice has involved parties in North America, South America, Europe, and Asia.
“I am excited to join Sherman & Howard and to have the opportunity to continue to build the Firm’s international arbitration and litigation practice,” said Mr. Wilson. “Our unique combination of in-house counsel, outside counsel and arbitrator experience distinguishes us from other law firms, and helps us to make sure we hear and address our client’s specific needs and goals, rather than to follow a standard, ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach.”
Mr. Wilson graduated with highest honors the University of Texas at Austin, where he elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Omicron Delta Kappa. He graduated with high honors from the University of Texas School of Law, where he was Order of the Coif.
He is the former chair of the Colorado State Board of Ethics. He and his wife, Kelly, have been married for 23 years, and he is an avid skier, hiker, mountain biker and photographer.
