Kutak Rock LLP Adds Nine Attorneys to Denver Corporate Group

Kutak Rock LLP, a national law firm with a large office in Denver, recently added nine lateral attorneys to the corporate group. Six of those attorneys joined from the boutique transactional law firm, Krendl, Krendl, Sachnoff & Way, P.C. and bring the total number of attorneys in the Denver office to 82.

“We had several excellent opportunities this month to add exceptional corporate attorneys to our Denver office,” said Robert D. Irvin, Vice Chair of Kutak Rock and managing partner of the Denver office. “By adding laterals who strategically match our existing areas of expertise in corporate, real estate, commercial litigation and public finance, we’re fulfilling our long-term vision to steadily grow our firm for the benefit of our clients.”

The six attorneys from Krendl, Krendl, Sachnoff & Way are Lee Sachnoff, Sherri Way, Gil Rosenthal, David Cripe, Jolyn Moses and Whitney Kopicky.

“Kutak Rock was a perfect fit because our practices complement the client work that Kutak attorneys already handle and our clients can benefit from the depth of resources at a national law firm,” said Lee Sachnoff. “It was also clear from our first meeting that culturally we share the core values and mindset to serve our clients’ needs in a proactive and responsive manner.”

“Typically, moving a group of attorneys from one law firm to another takes months of negotiating and maneuvering, but we put this together in just a few short weeks,” said Sherri Way. “It’s reflective of what great synergies exist.”

In addition to the team from the boutique law firm, Kutak Rock added Carol Mihalic, a corporate tax and tax credits attorney, who re-joined the firm after a four-year stretch at another national law firm; Arkan Haile, a corporate attorney from Washington, D.C. primarily focusing on public and private businesses in the oil and gas industries; and Chris Heroux, a corporate attorney from Tulsa, Oklahoma focusing in the area of oil and gas, energy and mining law.

“We’re excited to welcome Carol back to the firm to increase our firm’s strength in corporate tax and tax credit matters. She will be an integral resource for our corporate clients as they structure complicated financial transactions,” said Irvin. “And with the growing oil, gas, energy and mining industries in Colorado, Chris and Arkan will be key team members in our national energy practice group.”

Nationally, the firm is growing as well, having added two to three new attorneys per month for the past six months across the 16 offices.
