Hogan Lovells Negotiates $2 Billion Hospital Merger in Colorado

Hogan Lovells announced today that a team of its lawyers negotiated a $2 billion hospital merger in Colorado, one of the largest non-profit transactions in recent years. The new “University of Colorado Health” corporation will include Hogan Lovells client University of Colorado Hospital, along with Poudre Valley Hospital and Medical Center of the Rockies.

Additionally, the City Council of Colorado Springs recently voted unanimously to negotiate the conveyance of its Memorial Health System to University of Colorado Hospital in preference to other bidders. Hogan Lovells will be negotiating that transaction as well.
The Hogan Lovells team includes Clifford Stromberg, Torrey McClary, Adam Bellack, Howard Silver, Scott Lilienthal, Robert Leibenluft, and Esther Haley Walker (Washington, D.C.); Helen Atkeson, Jennifer McClister, and Anthony Ryan (Denver); and Stephanie Carman (Miami).
The transaction, which was announced on 31 January 2012, is expected to close in approximately 90 days.
