Polsinelli announced today the addition of a new shareholder to the firm’s Denver office and its Real Estate Practice. Real Estate attorney Amy Hansen brings 17 years of legal experience, focused on assisting clients who are developing raw land or underutilized properties for residential and commercial purposes. Hansen works with developers, contractors, investors and a range of business owners in investment structuring and other acquisition, financing, and development matters.
Prior to joining Polsinelli, Hansen worked with developers to create resort, transit-oriented and other mixed-use projects, as well as master-planned communities, in urban, suburban and resort markets. Hansen is also working on construction defect litigation reform in Colorado in an effort to spur new condominium development in the state.
“Amy’s business-minded insights and frontline experience with development projects make her a strong asset for our developer and lender clients in Denver’s growing real estate market,” said Polsinelli Real Estate Division Chair John D. Petersen. “Her in-depth knowledge of the industry and the Denver community are a powerful addition to our Polsinelli team.”
Hansen earned her law degree from the University of Kansas School of Law, where she served as a member of the Kansas Journal of Law and Public Policy. Hansen also received a B.A. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is licensed to practice in Colorado, Kansas and Missouri.
Hansen is a member of the Denver Civic Ventures board of directors with the Downtown Denver Partnership. She served as President of CREW Denver in 2014, and is active in the non-profit arena, having just completed a board term with Urban Peak, a nonprofit serving Denver’s homeless youth population.
“Polsinelli provides me with a strong and growing team as I continue to grow my practice and serve clients,” said Hansen. “I was very familiar with the firm’s reputation in real estate and am excited to be collaborating with this group of highly-respected attorneys in the industry.”
