Michael Best is pleased to announce that Emily Hobbs has joined the firm’s Labor and Employment Relations Practice as a partner in Denver. She will be the first member of the Labor and Employment Relations practice to be based in the firm’s Denver office. Hobbs comes to the firm from the Denver office of Holland & Hart LLP.

Emily’s skill set allows her to act as a trusted advisor to her clients as they face challenging and unprecedented circumstances.”
Hobbs has nearly two decades of employment law counseling and employment litigation experience. She has represented clients in state and federal courts and in government agency proceedings. Hobbs also has extensive experience counseling clients on employment-related issues in connection with hiring and firing, wage payment laws, drug testing, leaves of absence and compliance with anti-discrimination laws. She also represents plan administrators and insurance companies in the defense of life and disability insurance claims.

Hobbs earned her J.D. from the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law Order of St. Ives and her B.A., cum laude with high honors, from Smith College. Hobbs served as editor of the Colorado Employment Law Letter for 15 years and has served on various boards including the Faculty of Federal Advocates, which supports the federal judiciary in Colorado.
