Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Lucas (“Luke”) T. Ritchie to its Denver office as a partner in the firm’s Directors & Officers and Securities Litigation and Government Investigations & White Collar Defense Practices. Ritchie arrives from Moye White LLP in Denver.
With extensive litigation and trial experience, Mr. Ritchie focuses his practice on complex business and securities disputes, government investigations, and enforcement actions involving federal and state securities laws, the False Claims Act, consumer protection laws, and corporate governance and fiduciary laws. He represents businesses at all stages of growth, as well as their officers, directors, and compliance professionals. In addition, Mr. Ritchie often leads joint defense efforts on behalf of management teams in matters involving some of the most respected lawyers and law firms in the country.
In discussing his move to Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Ritchie explained that the firm’s national presence appealed to him, noting, “The firm’s national reach and the potential for collaboration with practices across the country was compelling. I look forward to having opportunities to work with colleagues who practice in areas similar to mine and to providing clients with the highest level of service.”
Outside of his practice, Mr. Ritchie has served as a leader in the legal community for many years. In January 2022, the Colorado Supreme Court appointed him to the Colorado Civil Rules Committee. He is also the current chair of the Colorado Bar Association’s (CBA) Business Law Section, a former chair of the CBA’s Litigation Section, and former three-term chair/co-chair of the CBA’s Securities Law Subsection. He also is a trusted source for national publications, regularly providing interviews on current legal topics.
Denver Managing Partner Todd Seelman, who has served on the CBA’s Executive Committee with Mr. Ritchie, expressed enthusiasm about his arrival. “Luke and I have worked together for some time, and I am very happy that he decided to join us,” he explained. “His deep experience and impressive track record will enhance our capabilities in various areas, and I look forward to working with him in this new capacity.”
Mr. Ritchie received his law degree from the University of Denver and his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado. He is admitted to practice in state and federal courts in Colorado, federal courts throughout the country, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
