Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli has announced that private equity finance and commercial lending attorney Ryan Copeland has joined the firm’s Denver office as a shareholder. Copeland’s practice primarily focuses on private equity funds, financial institutions, alternative lenders and commercial borrowers in finance and restructuring transactions.
“Ryan is a great addition to the team with his outstanding business-minded client service and his extensive experience in private equity finance and direct lending,” said Kraig Kohring, shareholder and chair of the Real Estate and Financial Services Department at Polsinelli in Kansas City. “Polsinelli has been very intentionally growing our nationwide private equity practice and Ryan is an important part of this and has hit the ground running since joining us in our efforts.”
Recently relocated to Denver from Texas and a prior resident of Chicago, Copeland is licensed to practice law by the Texas and Illinois state bars and his Colorado admission is pending. He has served on the boards of directors for the North Side Housing and Supportive Services in Chicago and the Interfaith Housing Coalition in Dallas.
“We welcome Ryan both to Colorado and to Polsinelli,” said Denver Office Managing Partner Jennifer Evans. “Polsinelli continues to grow its dynamic talent in the Denver legal market. Ryan is one of several new lawyers here who connect us more deeply to Denver’s thriving health care, real estate, finance, and corporate markets and to Polsinelli’s national practices and client base in those markets.”
In addition to earning Bachelor of Arts degree and Master of Business Administration degrees from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Copeland earned his Juris Doctorate from University of Chicago Law School. He is also a certified Six Sigma Specialist.
