Polsinelli Expands Venture Capital Practice in Denver with Scott Perlov

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is pleased to announce that the firm has expanded its Venture Capital & Emerging Growth Companies Practice with Scott M. Perlov, who has joined the firm as a shareholder in the Denver office from Morrison & Foerster LLP. With more than 20 years of experience in advising investors, startups and emerging companies in all stages of the business lifecycle, his clients span a wide range of industries, including technology, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, media, consumer products, life sciences and health care. He is the fourth new venture capital shareholder the firm has added in the past 12 months.

“Scott is an excellent addition to our nationwide team focused on guiding clients through the entire growth lifecycle, from early stages through exits and IPOs,” said Rick Jordan, Co-Chair of Polsinelli’s Venture Capital & Emerging Growth Companies Practice. “He is highly experienced in this space and has advised clients in hundreds of financings. Our nationwide strategy reflects a commitment to the Mountain West region, particularly in Colorado and Utah, and we look forward to continued growth with Scott’s well-established practice.”

“I am beyond excited to join Polsinelli’s robust emerging companies practice,” said Perlov. “This is a fantastic opportunity for me to continue to build a practice focusing on the needs of startups and venture backed companies. The firm’s deep resources and broad national platform will allow me to grow my practice in a way that aligns with the firm’s outside general counsel servicing model for emerging companies, not to mention that our clients will receive world-class service in nearly every subject matter. The entrepreneurial spirit of Polsinelli, along with the firm’s strategic focus in this space, are two key elements that resonated with me.”

Joining the firm from another Am Law 100 firm, Perlov’s practice encompasses matters focusing on early-stage angel and venture capital financings, corporate infrastructure, securities, tax and equity incentive issues. He represents a wide variety of technology companies as well as numerous angel and strategic investors and venture capital firms. His financing work includes transactions across the spectrum of stages, from pre-seed financings through successive seed, scaling and later stage preferred stock financings.

Perlov received his J.D., cum laude, from American University Washington College of Law and holds an LL.M. from New York University School of Law. He graduated with a B.A. from Colgate University and obtained an M.B.A. from Thunderbird School of Global Management.

With a focus on the emerging company market, Polsinelli has helped launch and grow hundreds of businesses.
