Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli is pleased to announce the growth of its Denver Business Services Division with the addition of new Shareholder Philip McDermott. He joins the firm’s national Securities & Corporate Finance Practice Group, with a specialized focus on Investment Management & Funds. McDermott is relocating from the Austin office of Jackson Walker LLP to join Polsinelli’s growing Denver office.

McDermott brings extensive experience in the formation and operation of investment funds in a range of strategies and asset classes, including private equity, real estate, performing and stressed credit, venture capital, hedge funds and more. In addition to advising fund sponsors and investors, McDermott works with clients in the real estate industry, representing developers and institutional capital providers on joint ventures.

McDermott’s work on behalf of sponsors and investors in connection with investing and fundraising activities spans regulatory matters arising under the Securities Act, the Exchange Act, the Investment Advisers Act, the Investment Company Act and the Commodity Exchange Act.

McDermott received a bachelor’s, cum laude, from Claremont McKenna College before earning a J.D., with honors, from the University of Texas School of Law.
