The global law firm Jones Day has announced that Ann Hollenbeck has joined the Firm’s Health Care Practice as a partner in its Detroit Office.
An experienced health care attorney, Ms. Hollenbeck advises hospitals, physicians, clinics, and other providers on the ramifications of health care reform and other government initiatives, regulations, and directives. She has also had extensive involvement with clients seeking counsel on arrangements and structures for academic entities, medical centers, and health systems.
“Ann is a recognized industry leader in health care law, especially as it relates to finding practical solutions to the challenges from the heavy regulation of the industry,” said Jones Day’s Steve Sozio, who co-leads the Firm’s Health Care Practice. “As regulatory issues continue to grow more complicated, our clients will appreciate the direction and guidance a lawyer with her experience can offer.”
Ms. Hollenbeck’s recent experience includes advising on the structure of a value-based collaboration between specialty physicians and hospitals in response to health care reform initiatives, negotiating the acquisition of a specialty hospital, and advising several hospitals on compliance issues arising from transactions, fraud and abuse allegations, and various matters relating to clinical research.
“Ann will be a terrific resource for our clients in Metro Detroit and across the nation, further bolstering a very strong roster of gifted lawyers here in the Detroit Office,” said Tim Melton, Partner-in-Charge of Jones Day’s Detroit Office. “The Firm’s commitment to providing clients with access to the most exceptional legal talent in the region and throughout the Firm’s offices across the globe has been a critical component in our early success here. Ann will help us deliver on that commitment, particularly with respect to our health care clients who operate in a complex and changing regulated environment and who will benefit from her experienced and knowledgeable counsel.”
Ms. Hollenbeck is a member of the state bar associations of Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. A member of the Michigan Bar’s Health Care Law Section, she has served in several leadership roles, including as the group’s Chair in 2008-2009.
