Michael A. Stone, an experienced attorney and a Major General in the Michigan National Guard has joined law firm Warner Norcross + Judd LLP as senior counsel.

Shanna M. Kaminski has joined Varnum’s Detroit office where she is a member of both the Litigation and Trial Team and the Banking, Finance and Restructuring Team.

Kaminski focuses on bankruptcy-related litigation, defending individuals and businesses in adversary proceedings brought against them in bankruptcy courts throughout the country, as well as on business litigation where she represents businesses and individuals in complex business disputes including shareholder and partnership disputes, breach of contract disputes, supply chain disputes and business torts.

Barnes & Thornburg Announces Enhanced Firmwide Parental Leave Policy Inclusive Of Attorneys And Non-Lawyer Staff

Barnes & Thornburg has rolled out an enhanced parental leave policy, effective January 1, 2019, which helps to set the bar for “one for all” parental leave policies in law firms across the U.S. Under the new policy, all firm employees – legal and non-legal alike – will be provided 16 weeks of parental leave at 100 percent pay. This includes parents who are starting a family through adoption.

Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kurt Wilder returns to Butzel Long

Former Michigan Supreme Court Justice Kurtis T. Wilder has rejoined Butzel Long, where he practiced earlier in his career. He rejoins as Of Counsel.

Justice Wilder served on the Michigan Supreme Court following his appointment by Governor Rick Snyder on May 9, 2017. Prior that time, Justice Wilder served as a judge on the Michigan Court of Appeals from December 1998 to May 2017 and a judge of the Washtenaw County Trial Court from March 1992 to December 1998.
