Attorney Barry B. Sutton Joins Clark Hill PLC, Detroit

Clark Hill PLC is proud to announce that Barry B. Sutton has joined the firm’s Detroit office, practicing in the Litigation practice group. Sutton specializes in product liability, and serves as national trial counsel for numerous companies, in product liability and other disputes throughout the country. Sutton has been repeatedly successful in obtaining both appellate and trial judgments on behalf of those clients. As principle drafter of the successful appellate briefs in Gregory v. Cincinnati, Peck v. Bridgeport Machines and Hollister v. Dayton Hudson Corporation, Sutton has helped to define and structure Michigan’s law of product liability. Sutton’s involvement in the defense of hunting product manufacturers and large, automotive component part suppliers on a national basis has allowed him to help shape the trends in product liability throughout the United States. In this capacity, Sutton is one of the pioneers in defending component part suppliers in product liability suits.

Lucius Vassar Joins Clark Hill PLC

Today, Clark Hill PLC announced the addition of Lucius A. Vassar to its Government and Public Affairs Practice Group.

Vassar brings to the firm more than 15 years of extensive government relations and legislative affairs experience. Prior to joining Clark Hill, he devoted six years of service and leadership to the City of Detroit where he served in a variety of leadership positions.

James E. Baiers Rejoins Clark Hill as an Of Counsel Attorney

James E. Baiers was a member of Clark Hill from 1979 through 1996.  He then went into the private sector and became the Chief Legal Officer for one of the countries largest publicly traded professional employer organizations with over 30,000 employees under contract.  In that position he was responsible for all of the company’s legal matters including SEC filings, government compliance, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and litigation.
