Dykema, a leading national law firm, today announced the addition of Robert C. Shrosbree to its Corporate Finance practice group as a member in the firm’s Detroit office. Shrosbree, who was previously an associate at Dykema from 1987-1991 after graduating from law school, returns to the firm after spending the past decade in-house at General Motors as its Executive Director, Lead Counsel Federal Oversight and Acting Corporate Secretary.
In his role with General Motors, Shrosbree supervised the Legal Staff’s Securities and Transactions Practice Group and advised the Board of Directors and executive officers on corporate and securities law matters. In addition to serving as GM’s Acting Corporate Secretary, he also oversaw the legal staffs of GM’s Finance Company and its Asset Management Company. Shrosbree was the lead attorney on all of the parent company’s securities transactions, including a $23 billion initial public offering; a $26 billion bond exchange transaction; and multiple billion dollar bond offerings and commercial financing transactions.
Prior to his time with GM, Shrosbree also served as Assistant General Counsel at Consumers Energy—leading the Legal Department’s Securities Group—and was previously a Vice President in the corporate section of Comerica Incorporated’s Legal Department.
“We’re extremely pleased to have Bob join us,” said Jin-Kyu Koh, Director of Dykema’s Business Services Department. “Bob’s extensive experience at GM in corporate, securities, and SEC compliance/reporting will be of great benefit to our clients and the firm.”
Shrosbree earned a J.D. from the Ohio State University, Moritz College of Law and a B.B.A., with distinction, from the University of Michigan, Ross School of Business Administration.
