Jeffrey M. Stefan has joined the Corporate Practice Team at Varnum. He is based in the firm’s Detroit office.
Prior to joining Varnum, Stefan served as autonomous vehicle counsel at a major global automaker. In that role, he worked closely with the product development and business operation teams to provide regulatory counsel and transactional support. He previously served in emerging technologies/public policy where he addressed a wide range of issues impacting the company’s emerging technology portfolio, including data privacy, cybersecurity and various telematics-related legal and public policy matters.
Stefan’s previous law firm experience encompasses a wide variety of commercial transactions with clients ranging from multinational corporations to technology startups. Stefan also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Paul D. Borman in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan.
Stefan is credentialed as a U.S. Certified Information Privacy Professional by the IAPP. He is a graduate of Wayne State University Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude, served on The Wayne Law Review and was a member of the Order of the Coif honor society. He received his undergraduate degree from Eastern Michigan University.
