International law firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its dispute resolution and construction team in the Middle East with the appointment of partner David Risbridger in the UAE.
David, who was previously head of dispute resolution and construction in the Middle East for Dentons, joins the firm on 17 November 2013. David has been in the region for over four years and has worked on a range of complex projects and disputes for governments, private companies and individuals.
David trained as a quantity surveyor before joining the legal profession. He is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and specialises in advising on construction and major projects and the complex disputes they give rise to.
Andrew Wingfield, Head of the Middle East at Simmons & Simmons, said: “The expansion of the dispute resolution construction team in the Middle East is another example of the firm building on its key strengths in the region. We have an excellent dispute resolution and construction offering, and we are advising on major energy and infrastructure projects in the region from both a contentious and non-contentious perspective.
‘‘We see many opportunities in the region, in particular those arising from the 2022 World Cup in Doha and Dubai’s bid for Expo 2020, and we look forward to David’s arrival to expand the dispute resolution practice”, he added.
David Risbridger is the third partner hire in the Middle East for Simmons & Simmons this year, following the appointment of Corporate partners Arnaud Depierrefeu (Doha) and Haitham Hawashin (Abu Dhabi).
