Global law firm Dentons has strengthened its Corporate practice with the recruitment of Dr. Predrag Maksimovic and Frank Tepper-Sawicki as partners in its new office in Dusseldorf. With their extensive transactional experience in M&A, private equity and venture capital, they represent an essential pillar of the service offering in Dusseldorf, which also comprises Competition and Antitrust, Employment and Labor, Public Policy and Regulation, Real Estate and Tax. Maksimovic joins Dentons from IKB Deutsche Industriebank, Tepper-Sawicki moves to Dentons from PwC.
While at IKB Deutsche Industriebank, Maksimovic was responsible for the bank’s corporate law and M&A division for more than eight years as legal counsel. At IKB, he advised on the sale of numerous private equity investments, strategic M&A transactions and corporate restructurings as well as IKB’s delisting from the stock exchange. Prior to IKB, Predrag Maksimovic worked at a US-headquartered international law firm for several years. His work at Dentons will focus in particular on the banking, finance and leasing sectors.
Frank Tepper-Sawicki is a Corporate/M&A lawyer with specific expertise in venture capital investments and the structuring of joint ventures. In addition, he advises on complex corporate reorganizations, for example on pre-acquisition carve-outs and post-merger integration. Furthermore, he has experience and deep industry knowhow regarding the regulated energy sector. His clients include national and international corporations, financial and strategic investors as well as utilities and investors in renewable energies.
At Dentons, both will be part of the Corporate practice in Germany, which is made up of more than 70 lawyers, including 26 partners, in Berlin, Frankfurt, Munich and Dusseldorf.
“Our Corporate and M&A practice has steadily developed over the past years and we are proud to have grown into one of the largest Corporate and M&A teams in the market, which offers deep sector knowledge across a range of industries”, explained Dr. Christof Kautzsch, Head of Corporate at Dentons in Germany.
“Adding Corporate and M&A to our service offering in Dusseldorf is an absolute must, given the importance of foreign direct investment for the surrounding Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region”, said Andreas Ziegenhagen, Dentons’ Germany Managing Partner.
Andreas Haak, Dentons’ Dusseldorf Managing Partner, said: “Although our journey in Dusseldorf started only a few short months ago, I am happy to be taking an important step forward with the recruitment of two quality partners for our Corporate/M&A practice, a key service area for our clients.”
Dentons’ Dusseldorf office, which opened in February this year, now comprises eight partners. The Firm has ambitious plans to grow the team and establish a full-service offering in Dusseldorf.
