Gray Plant Mooty Expands Fargo Presence Through Merger With Sandin Law

Gray Plant Mooty, a 170-attorney law firm based in Minneapolis, announced it completed a merger today with Sandin Law, a boutique estate and business planning law firm located in Fargo.

The announcement follows a December 2014 notice that Gray Plant Mooty was opening a Fargo office after advising clients in the region for decades. A team of five professionals, led by Principal Toni M. Sandin, will add depth to Gray Plant Mooty’s Trust, Estates and Charitable Planning Group, one of the largest and most sophisticated practice groups of its kind in the United States.

“Bringing Sandin Law into the Gray Plant Mooty family is the next early step of our long-term growth strategy in the Fargo region,” said Charlie Maier, co-managing partner of Gray Plant Mooty. “We saw an opportunity to have locally-established trust and estate lawyers work directly with our business clients, and found a perfect fit with Toni and her team. Our firm excels at collaborating across practice groups to enhance client value.”

Sandin is a trusted counselor with an excellent balance of legal skills and business sense that transcends industry areas including oil and gas, agriculture, energy and health care. As a lawyer and a CPA, she blends legal, tax and accounting knowledge, and is highly connected in the Fargo business community.

“I am thrilled that Gray Plant Mooty shares the same values that we did at Sandin Law through its client-centered approach in providing high-caliber legal services,” Sandin said. “It is exciting that our entire team will continue to work together at Gray Plant Mooty as we help clients and their families for generations to come.”
