Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Dale Bergman to its Fort Lauderdale and New York offices as a vice-chair of the firm’s Securities & Corporate Finance Practice, and a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions and Corporate Practices. Bergman arrives from Gutiérrez Bergman Boulris, PLLC.
Mr. Bergman focuses his practice in the areas of corporate, business, and securities transactions. He has more than 40 years of experience structuring a variety of domestic and international commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, stock purchases, asset purchases, sales, tender offers, corporate restructurings, joint ventures, strategic alliances, operating and shareholder agreements, as well as venture capital and private equity investments.
In addition, Mr. Bergman has represented businesses at all stages of development, managing issues such as organizational and corporate governance, leases and financings, technology licensing, secured transactions, as well as bank, institutional, and bond financings. Throughout his career, Mr. Bergman – who is fluent in Hebrew – has maintained a diverse client base, representing entrepreneurial, middle market, and institutional clients. His clients span various industries, including biotech, manufacturing, aviation, retail, and hospitality.
In discussing his decision to join Lewis Brisbois, Mr. Bergman noted, “The firm has a great platform and a lot of strong systems, but it’s not run like most big firms – particularly in the corporate practices – which is a positive. The members of the firm seem very happy, and I view this as a great opportunity.” He added, “I’m looking forward to integrating my practice, growing it, and ultimately, when the time comes, leaving it as a legacy for the next generation of lawyers to build on.”
Chair of Lewis Brisbois’ National Corporate Practice and Co-Chair of its Securities & Corporate Finance Practice Michael G. Platner expressed enthusiasm about Mr. Bergman’s arrival, noting, “I have known Dale for many years, and I am thrilled to welcome him to the team. We are lucky to have such an experienced, knowledgeable, and skilled attorney join us in Fort Lauderdale.” Mr. Platner, who is also co-managing partner of the Fort Lauderdale office, added, “His significant public sector transactions and public reporting experience is a welcome addition to the diverse public offering and compliance capabilities of our securities practice. I know that he will be a great asset to the firm and our clients.”
Mr. Bergman earned his law degree, cum laude, from Harvard Law School and his undergraduate degree, cum laude, from Columbia University. He is admitted to practice in Florida and New York.
