International law firm Simmons & Simmons has expanded its financial markets practice with the addition of Dr Werner Meier who joins the firm’s London and Frankfurt offices as a partner.* Werner joined Simmons & Simmons on 05 July 2017 from King & Spalding, where he headed the firm’s European restructuring practice.
Werner also spent over 22 years at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and was head of the firm’s finance and restructuring practice. He has a wealth of experience in finance and restructuring, with particular expertise advising on European debt and corporate restructurings, syndicated lending, high-yield bonds, securitisations and other structured finance transactions.
At Simmons & Simmons, Werner will lead the firm’s German restructuring practice and will contribute to the further development of its Europe-wide financial markets practice.
Werner’s finance experience covers a broad range of transactions, from syndicated loans to structured finance, high-yield bonds, factoring and other types of financings, both borrower-side and lender-side.
