Global law firm Reed Smith today announced the appointment of Dr. Germar Enders as partner in its Munich office. Enders will join the firm’s Global Corporate Group on 1 August from McDermott Will & Emery (McDermott) where he was counsel.
Enders’ practice is focused on advising strategic and financial investors as well as management teams on a wide range of domestic, cross-border, and multi-jurisdictional transactions. He advises in a broad range of industries, including consumer, e-commerce, IT, and healthcare. With extensive experience in private equity transactions, cross-border mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and general corporate law, Enders’ arrival will further enhance the firm’s global offering.

Prior to joining McDermott in 2014, Enders was a senior associate specialising in corporate private equity and M&A at Ashurst from 2007. Having trained in Cologne and New York, he started his career as an associate at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer in 2005 and worked as assistant professor at the Max-Planck-Institute and the University of Munich in 2006.
This latest hire is the third senior corporate lawyer to join Reed Smith this year, following the arrival of partner Dr. Nikolaus von Jacobs and senior counsel Christian von Sydow in May.
Reed Smith has been operating in Munich for over 15 years and launched its Frankfurt office in 2015.
