Littler Welcomes Shareholder Seth Mehrten in Fresno

Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Seth G. Mehrten as a shareholder in its Fresno office. Mehrten joins the firm from Barsamian & Moody.

With a practice focused on employment-related litigation, Mehrten represents employers against claims involving wage and hour violations, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. He regularly handles disputes in federal and state trial and appellate courts, as well as complex class actions, and defends clients in matters before various agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Agricultural Labor Relations Board, California Civil Rights Department, and the California Labor Commissioner.

“As employers navigate increased regulatory enforcement at both the federal and state levels, trusted advisors like Seth are critical to mitigating risk while achieving their business goals,” said Erin Webber, Littler’s managing director and president. “Seth’s dedication to delivering insightful, proactive legal counsel will be of great value to our clients and we’re thrilled to add him to our Fresno team.”

Mehrten is a frequent speaker at both state and national conferences on topics pertaining to wage and hour compliance, leaves of absence and accommodations, and corporate governance, among others. With significant experience representing clients in the agriculture industry, he regularly presents at events hosted by such organizations as the Agricultural Personnel Management Association, the Farm Employers Labor Service, and AgSafe. Prior to entering private practice, Mehrten served as a Deputy City Attorney in Fresno’s Office of the City Attorney and advised on a wide range of legal issues.

“Seth is an exceptional litigator whose experience across an array of complex employment and labor law matters will help our clients stay ahead of potential workplace challenges,” said Ryan Eddings, Littler’s Fresno office managing shareholder. “Particularly in California, where we continue to see a number of legislative changes impacting the workplace, Seth’s depth of knowledge and calculated approach will benefit local employers of all sizes.”

“I’m excited to join such a renowned employment and labor law firm,” said Mehrten. “Littler’s global platform and innovative resources are truly the best in the business, and I look forward to collaborating with an exceptional team of attorneys as we make a meaningful impact for our clients.”
