Philipp Windemuth has joined Dentons’ Russian, German and US Corporate practice as a partner. Philipp joins Dentons from Orrick. Specializing in M&A, real estate and financing transactions, he will be based in Dentons’ Moscow and Berlin offices. Philipp joins together with Of Counsels Olga Sandlerand Dr. Joachim Homeister and Associate Elena Homeister.
After working at Cleary Gottlieb in New York between 1987 and 1991, Philipp became one of the founders of legacy Salans’ Moscow and St. Petersburg offices. He left the firm in 2005 (to work at White & Case from 2005 – 2010 and at Orrick from 2011 – 2014), but has now decided to return. During the past 23 years, he has represented leading multinational companies and financial institutions in their investment projects in the Russian Federation and other CIS countries.

Philipp is a native bilingual English and German speaker and is also fluent in Russian.
Florian Schneider, Dentons’ Moscow Office Managing Partner, noted: “We are very enthusiastic about Philipp joining our team. He is a well-known lawyer with prodigious expertise in Russian M&A and financing transactions. The fact that one of our former partners—one of our founders in Russia—is back with the firm, is another positive sign of the impact of Dentons’ combination on our practice.”
Andreas Ziegenhagen, Managing Partner Dentons Germany, is delighted by Philipp’s return: “It couldn’t be better. We are always happy to welcome new arrivals, and in this case, we are already familiar with Philipp’s exceptional work as an advisor; this makes the cooperation within the teams easy and safe.”
Philipp himself is also looking forward to his return to “a law firm I grew up with, which has expanded and improved enormously over the years. With Dentons now a top rated global law firm, I am happy to come back to my roots.”
Philipp’s return to Dentons is the third arrival in Dentons Germany within a very short timeframe. Thomas Voss, who focusses on international tax, also starts in April as well as Sabine Wieduwilt, who joins the real estate practice. Both are located in Dentons’ Frankfurt office.
