Dechert LLP announced today that Dr. Markus J. Friedl has joined the firm’s Corporate & Securities group as a national partner in the Frankfurt office. Friedl was most recently counsel at SZA Schilling, Zutt & Anschütz.

And a talented lawyer such as Markus with a real focus on M&A is exactly what we need to make our German corporate practice even stronger” said Sven Schulte-Hillen, a corporate partner who joined the firm in March to help build up its Frankfurt capability.
Friedl focuses on advising companies and financial investors on national and cross-border M&A transactions and restructurings, as well as on general corporate and corporate finance law matters.

Friedl is a graduate of the University of Bayreuth and obtained a doctoral degree in law at the University of Munich and a LL.M. at Georgetown University, Washington D.C. Previously, he has worked at several major German and international law firms in Frankfurt. He is fluent in German, English and Spanish.
