DLA Piper has acquired a recognized financial expert for its German Finance & Projects practice in Dr Wolfram Distler. Dr Distler comes to DLA Piper from Linklaters and, as an equity partner with effect from 1 September 2012, will be strengthening the team in Frankfurt headed by practice group leader Frank Schwem.
Since 2003, Dr Wolfram Distler has been working in the Linklaters banking team, mainly in Frankfurt but interrupted by two lengthy periods in the London office. In 2006 he was working in the banking team and in 2009 in the Global Projects team at Linklaters in the City. His particular speciality within the consultancy spectrum is project and acquisition financing, company financing and real estate financing. In recent years he has been concentrating on complex international financing projects in the fields of infrastructure and energy (above all renewable energy sources). His focus here has been on lenders but also on borrowers and investors in energy and infrastructure projects.
