Morgan Lewis today announced that Dr. Marcus Herrmann—a high profile M&A and corporate lawyer—has joined the Frankfurt office as a partner. Marcus was most recently a partner at Latham & Watkins, where he was one of the founder partners of the Frankfurt bureau in 2002.
“We are delighted that Marcus is bringing his enormous transactional expertise and sector knowledge of the automotive, manufacturing, energy and financial services industries to our team in Frankfurt,” said Charles E Engros, leader of the firm’s Business and Finance practice. “His extensive experience in international transactions will also greatly enhance our global Business and Finance group.”
“Marcus’ arrival will significantly reinforce our corporate practice group in Frankfurt, which is one of the firm’s core competences,” said Dr. Christian Zschocke, managing partner of the Frankfurt office. “He is going to work very closely with our colleagues in Europe, the United States and Asia.”
Marcus advises German and international companies on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, corporate restructurings and other issues of corporate law.
Morgan Lewis’s Frankfurt office is focused on projects and transactions—in particular, mergers and acquisitions and public and private equity transactions—and financial services advice including securities, capital markets, and derivatives. The practice has pursued a consistent growth strategy during the past several years to reinforce the office’s corporate capabilities.
