Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has appointed Ivana Mikešić as a new partner. Ivana is based in Frankfurt and WFW will open a new office in the city in January 2013.
Ivana is a regulatory law specialist with a particular focus in the energy, infrastructure and real estate sectors, and is currently a partner at Salans.
This will represent WFW’s third office in Germany, adding to its Hamburg and Munich bases which were established in 2005 and 2009 respectively and together have today a total of almost 60 lawyers and tax consultants. Ivana will join with two associates and will also include in her team another associate based in WFW Hamburg. She brings expertise which will complement WFW’s existing energy and real estate practices in Germany.
Ivana Mikešić said: “My experience and ambition are a good fit for WFW, in particular to participate in the development of its market leading energy practice, and I am very excited to be setting up the firm’s office here in Frankfurt.”
Lothar Wegener, partner and head of WFW Germany said: “Development of our regulatory practice has become a strategic priority as our energy, infrastructure and real estate practices go from strength to strength; in addition we have been considering for some time the opportunities which exist for WFW in Frankfurt and whilst we have been cautious in how we approach that market this combination makes good sense for us in a number of respects. This is an exciting development which moves WFW’s successful German practice to another level, whilst maintaining the focused approach which has served us so well.“
Managing Partner Michael Greville said: “I am delighted to welcome Ivana to Watson, Farley & Williams, and to announce the opening of our 14th office, in Frankfurt. This affirms the next phase of development of our award-winning German practice.”
