Watson, Farley & Williams (“WFW”), a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce that it has appointed partner Anne Kleffmann and two new associates to strengthen its German employment law practice.
From 1 March 2013 Anne Kleffmann will join WFW’s Munich office and will contribute significantly to the dynamic development of the German employment practice, adding further strength to WFW’s cross-border employment offering which also includes the UK, France and Asia.
Anne currently practises at the law firm Heuking Kühn Lühr Wojtek, and covers a broad spectrum of employment law. She advises national and international clients on all aspects of individual and collective labour law, with a particular focus on employment law-related restructuring. She is also a recognised expert in the field of transactional employment law.
WFW has also made further strategic additions to its employment team in Germany with two associates in the Hamburg office. Dr. Jan Beckmann will join on 1 March from the Herford-based partnership Beckmann & Massmann, and Dr. Andreas Wiegreffe arrives on 1 April from the Hamburg law practice Glauber & Partner. Additional recruitments at associate level are planned.
Lothar Wegener, partner and head of WFW Germany commented: “The new arrivals are a highly welcome boost for our employment law practice in Hamburg and Munich and reflect the exceptional success of this practice since the appointment of Dr. Nikolaus Krienke in 2011. With the arrival of Anne Kleffmann we are delighted to have gained another partner with an excellent reputation.”
Dr. Nikolaus Krienke, partner and head of the German employment law practice adds: “Anne Kleffmann and I previously worked closely and very successfully at Clifford Chance which is why I am especially delighted about her decision to move to WFW. With Anne’s exceptional expertise, I am confident that we can meet our clients’ increasing demand for collective labour law advice.”
Michael Greville, Managing Partner, said: “As our practice in Germany continues to expand, our clients’ demand for employment law is becoming increasingly sophisticated, and in order to correctly service it we need to provide advice of the highest quality. Anne’s arrival in Munich is the latest event to contribute to our recent strategic growth in Germany, following the establishment of our Frankfurt office earlier this year.”
