Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Dr. Lutz Englisch will join the firm’s Munich office as a partner. Englisch, who will continue his international mergers and acquisitions practice, was previously the Head of Corporate for Germany for Ashurst. Before that, he served as Head of the Corporate Legal M&A Group at Siemens AG.

About Lutz Englisch
Englisch focuses his practice on domestic, cross-border and multi-jurisdictional M&A (public and private). He also has broad experience advising on all aspects of corporate law, including stock corporation law (board matters, corporate governance and compliance), transformation law, equity capital markets transactions, public takeovers, and joint ventures.
He practiced with the Munich office of Ashurst since 2007 and most recently served as Ashurst’s Head of Corporate Germany. Before that, he was a member of the legal department of Siemens AG, serving as Head of the Corporate M&A Team.
He is a member of the exclusive Munich roundtable for business law (Münchner Gesprächskreis Unternehmensrecht) as well as other professional associations. He received his law degree from Universities of Münster and Regensburg, Germany in 1987. He completed his mandatory legal clerkship in Regensburg in 1990 and subsequently obtained a doctorate magna cum laude from the University of Regensburg in 1993.
