Effective immediately, Jones Day is opening a new office in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that Jesús E. Cuza and Ina María Berlingeri have joined the firm as partners in the South Florida Litigation Practice Group. Both attorneys will maintain offices in Miami and Fort Lauderdale and work closely with the firm’s Commercial Litigation, International Litigation and Arbitration and Latin America Teams. They were previously shareholders with Greenberg Traurig.

Dechert LLP announced today that it has expanded its presence in Germany with the opening of an office in Frankfurt. Achim Pütz, who joined the firm in 2010, will serve as the managing partner for the office. He will be joined by Dr. Carsten Fischer and Dr. Benedikt Weiser, who have been elected as partners in the Financial Services group. Fischer, who has started with the firm, was previously a partner and a leader of the regulatory team at WTS Group, while Weiser, who will join the firm in February, was most recently a partner at Mayer Brown and head of its German Private Investment Funds group.

Global law firm K&L Gates LLP continues the growth of its commercial disputes and arbitration practices with the addition of Dr. Johann von Pachelbel as a partner in its Frankfurt office. He joins K&L Gates from Mannheimer Swartling Advokatbyra AB.

The international law firm King & Spalding announced today that international arbitration expert Jan K. Schäfer has joined as a partner in its Frankfurt office.

Squire, Sanders & Dempsey is expanding its Frankfurt office with the appointment of intellectual property, commercial and regulatory lawyers Iliana and Philip Haleen as partner and of counsel, respectively. Iliana and Philip will join the global legal practice in January 2012.

The international law firm Bryan Cave LLP (www.bryancave.com) will significantly expand its European presence through the addition of two leading attorneys and the establishment of an office in Frankfurt, Germany. Field Fisher Waterhouse announces today the appointment of litigation partner Sibylle Schumacher. She will be joining the Munich office on 1st November from Weil Gotshal Manges LLP where she has headed the litigation practice since 2009.

International law firm Berwin Leighton Paisner (BLP) today (19 September 2011) announced plans to open two offices in Germany (Frankfurt and Berlin).  The offices, which are expected to be open before the end of the year, will focus on high end real estate work.
