Harneys is pleased to announce the recruitment of partners Colin Berryman and Andrew Morehouse to its growing Cayman Islands team. Both join from Ogier in the Cayman Islands.

These are only the latest partner appointments to Harneys’ Cayman Islands team which has also recently seen additions from Maples and Calder, Walkers and Appleby.
Andrew has been based in Cayman since 2006 and progressed to partnership with Ogier’s Cayman office. Earlier, he practised with their Jersey office. Andrew has also managed in-house legal teams with The Royal Bank of Scotland plc and Martin Currie Investment Management Limited. His practice encompasses all aspects of Cayman investment funds including formation, ongoing maintenance, restructuring, investor relations and termination. He also acts in relation to general corporate work particularly in relation to the sale and purchase of securities in secondary transactions, governance issues and reorganisations.
Colin has been with Ogier in Cayman since 2007 practising in the investment funds and corporate areas. He has been ranked as a leading lawyer in both of these areas by Chambers Global and has also been recognised as a leading lawyer in the IFLR 1000 and Legal 500 directories. Colin’s practice includes providing advice to clients over the complete life cycle of an investment fund from launch to wind-down. He also has extensive experience in advising clients in a wide variety of corporate transactions including mergers and acquisitions, listings, joint ventures and both public and private offerings of debt and equity securities. Prior to joining Ogier, Colin practised in Canada at Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt in the Toronto and Calgary offices.

The appointments of Andrew and Colin bring to six the number of partners recruited by Harneys to join its Cayman practice since the beginning of 2012. Andrew and Colin are expected to commence work at Harneys this summer.
