Ellis & Winters is pleased to announce that Amy Richardson has recently joined the firm.
Ms. Richardson graduated cum laude from Duke University School of Law in 2002, where she served as the Managing Editor of the Duke Journal of Gender Law and Policy, as the Co-Chair of the Moot Court Board, and received The Advocacy Award for her graduating class from the law school faculty. Ms. Richardson graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Communications Studies from the University of North Carolina in 1998. Ms. Richardson served as a law clerk for the Honorable, N. Carlton Tilley of the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina.
Prior to joining Ellis & Winters, Ms. Richardson practiced for ten years in Washington, D.C. She worked as an associate at Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr, and a partner at Wiltshire & Grannis, LLP in Washington, D.C. For her work, Ms. Richardson was recognized as a “Rising Star” by Chambers USA.
Ms. Richardson has represented clients on a variety of issues in state and federal court proceedings at both the trial and appellate levels, as well as before federal agencies. She has been involved in all aspects of such complex proceedings, including direct and cross trial examinations, trial strategy, drafting and arguing briefs and pleadings, preparing witnesses, taking and defending depositions, and pre-trial practice.
