Rosetta Packer Joins Ballard Spahr’s Business and Finance Department in Philadelphia

Rosetta B. Packer, an attorney known for her work advising financial institutions and commercial finance companies in workouts and restructuring matters, has joined Ballard Spahr as a partner in the Philadelphia office, firm Chair Mark Stewart announced today.

Ms. Packer focuses on complex commercial and real estate workouts and related state and federal litigation. She advises a range of leading financial institutions in loan restructuring, lender liability prevention and defense, and intercreditor relationships.

“Rosetta’s more than two decades of experience handling workouts makes her a valuable asset to the firm,” Mr. Stewart said. “She is known in the banking industry as a tenacious and skilled attorney, as well as a pioneering woman in her field. We are pleased to welcome her as a partner.”

Ms. Packer has represented secured lenders in major Chapter 11 proceedings and has negotiated and documented complex real estate restructured transactions and asset-based facilities. In addition, she has tried cases in federal and state courts in complex commercial matters and lease finance transactions.

“Ballard Spahr’s strength in Philadelphia, its national platform, and its excellent reputation in the workout arena make the firm a great fit for my practice,” Ms. Packer said. “I look forward to working with my new colleagues.”

Before joining the firm, Ms. Packer was a partner in the Philadelphia office of McCarter & English. At Ballard Spahr, she is a member of the Business and Finance Department and the firm’s Transactional Finance Group and Real Estate Finance and Capital Markets Group.
