Burr & Forman LLP is pleased to announce the addition of Joseph “Joe” A. Vallo to the firm’s Litigation Practice as a Fort Lauderdale-based partner.
Vallo is the second attorney to join Burr & Forman’s Fort Lauderdale office this year with the addition of Brendan Sweeney to the firm’s Financial Services Litigation Group in March.
“We are excited about expanding our presence in South Florida, which includes the addition of experienced attorneys like Joe to serve our Florida-based clients,” said Lee Thuston, managing partner of Burr & Forman. “We know that Joe’s commitment to quality legal work and client service is consistent with our goals, and we are pleased to have him as part of our team.”
Vallo represents clients involved in securities litigation, as well as securities arbitration and mediation. He has extensive experience dealing with retail brokerage compliance issues in domestic and international markets. Prior to joining Burr, Joe practiced for four years with Greenberg Traurig and has served as senior vice president and senior litigation counsel for Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, where he oversaw the corporation’s major litigations and arbitrations.
Vallo is involved in a number of professional and civic organizations including the National Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Bar Association, serving as president-elect and treasurer for the LGBT Bar Foundation. He is active in the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA). He serves on the board of directors for the Cortland College Foundation, and is a former member of the Broward County Foundation.
He received his undergraduate degree from The State University of New York’s College at Cortland and his law degree from New York Law School.
