Maynard, Cooper & Gale, P.C. is pleased to announce that attorneys Thomas S. Rue, David C. Hannan, and J. Ben Segarra have joined the Firm’s Mobile office as part of the Admiralty and Maritime practice.
Thomas S. Rue is a Shareholder in the firm’s Admiralty and Maritime practice group. He has more than 35 years of experience in representing vessel owners, operators and charterers; P & I clubs; cargo interests; hull underwriters; shipbuilders and repairers; and terminal operators in state and federal courts. Mr. Rue is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States and distinguished himself by becoming the only lawyer from Alabama to have served as its president. He received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and his undergraduate degree from The University of the South.
David C. Hannan is a Shareholder in the firm’s Admiralty and Maritime practice. He is also a member of the Bankruptcy, Workouts and Creditors’ Rights; ERISA and Group Insurance Litigation; Insurance and Financial Services Litigation; Labor & Employment; and Product Liability practices. Mr. Hannan’s professional affiliations include a Proctor designation, Maritime Law Association of the United States, a member of the International Association of Defense Council, and the Defense Research Institute. He received his J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and his undergraduate degree from Auburn University.
J. Ben Segarra is an Associate in the in the firm’s Admiralty and Maritime practice. Mr. Segarra has experience handling matters ranging across nearly the entire admiralty and maritime spectrum by defending claims under the Jones Act, OPA 90, APPS, and the general maritime law. He received his LL.M. in Admiralty from Tulane University Law School, his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, and his undergraduate degree from Duke University, and has also served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable William E. Cassady of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama.
