DLA Piper Advises DM BZWBK and BZ WBK on Debut of Agroton on the WSE

DLA Piper advised DM BZWBK and BZ WBK on the introduction of Agroton shares to the Warsaw Stock Exchange (“WSE”). Agroton, the fourth largest agriculture producer in Ukraine, is the latest Ukrainian company to debut on the Warsaw market, which is fast becoming one of Europe’s most attractive exchanges.

Lawyers from DLA Piper’s Warsaw and New York offices advised Dom Maklerski BZWBK S.A. (domestic lead manager and offeror) and Bank Zachodni WBK S.A. (financial advisor) on the initial public offering (IPO) and introduction of Agroton Public Limited shares to trade on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. They also advised on issues concerning the placement of part of the shares with US investors. The cross border DLA Piper team advising on this deal included partners, Jack Kantrowitz (New York) and Patryk Laskorzyński (Warsaw), and associates, Michał Pawłowski and Rafał Woźniak (Warsaw).

“Agroton is the third Ukrainian company that has debuted on the main market of the Warsaw Stock Exchange. This confirms that the Warsaw floor has achieved the position of regional leader and will continue to attract more foreign investors. This is of significant importance in the context of the upcoming market debut of the WSE,” said Patryk Laskorzyński.

He continued: “DLA Piper has a strong and visible capital market practice, both in Warsaw as well as Kiev. That is why we hope to be the first-choice law office for Ukrainian companies planning to enter the Warsaw market in the near future.”

Michał Pawłowski added: “We are observing growing interest among Ukrainian companies to raise capital on the Warsaw market. Agroton is another example of a successful debut of such entity. I am convinced that the number of Ukrainian issuers whose shares will be listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange will increase significantly in the near future.”
