Nick Humphrey, former partner and National Head of Private Equity at Norton Rose Group, has joined Sparke Helmore Lawyers as the firm’s National Corporate Practice Group Leader.
Nick is excited about the prospect of expanding the corporate practice at Sparke Helmore, a firm best known for its insurance, government and workplace practices. “This is a rare opportunity to create a boutique offering in mid-market M&A, ECM and private equity transactions for blue chip corporates and investors within a firm that already has a national footprint and an enviable client base.”
The firm’s National Managing Partner, Jesse Webb, agrees: “Nick’s appointment flags a clear turning point for this firm as we create a national corporate practice that will build on our strengths in the finance, mining, manufacturing, retail, property and construction industry sectors. For our clients, Nick’s mergers and acquisitions and private equity expertise enhances the value we offer.”
Nick is a private equity and mergers and acquisitions lawyer who has been acknowledged as a leading practitioner by a range of publications including AFR Best Lawyer, ALB Guide: Private Equity 2009, Asia Pacific Legal 500, IFLR and Global Private Equity Council, Euromoney Expert Guide to the World’s Leading Lawyers, PLC Cross-border Handbook and PLC Which Lawyer? (London). Nick was previously a member of the Corporate Finance Advisory Panel for FSIA.
