International Law Firm Brings on New Partner in London Office

International law firm Bird & Bird announced it has hired a new partner for its London legal office.

International law firm Bird & Bird announced it has hired a new partner for its London legal office, according to a press release.

Peter Willis joined the international EU & Competition Practice Group of Bird & Bird. The sector of the firm that Willis joins through legal recruiting efforts is a key component of the law firm and it helps clients internationally expand their businesses.

“Peter is a key addition to our team as we continue to develop our competition capability internationally,” said Jose Rivas, International EU & Competition Practice Group head. “Peter’s expertise is a great fit, particularly his experience in private enforcement which is becomingly increasingly important in several of our key industries.”

Willis noted he enjoyed his experience with Dundas & Wilson, where he practiced prior to accepting the new position. But, he noted, his practice is up for new challenges, especially in the changing energy and competition litigation sectors.  He believes the merger of national competition and regulatory authorities, procedures, and courts demonstrates how vital it is to combine sector knowledge and local expertise throughout Europe.
