Harneys is pleased to announce that Joss Morris has joined the firm’s Cayman office as a partner.
Previously with Walkers and Linklaters, Joss brings over 14 years of experience in offshore fund formation, private equity, cross-border corporate transactions and banking and finance matters.
Head of the Cayman office Kieron O’Rourke commented: “Joss is a highly experienced and capable practitioner who strengthens our Cayman Islands law offering. He comes to us with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding client expectations and will fit in well with the high-quality Cayman team we have built.”
Joss commented: “Known for years as the market leader in the BVI, Harneys has an increasingly prominent reputation in Cayman due to the quality and depth of the team and its clients. I am looking forward to playing a role in the continued growth and development of the firm and particular raising the profile of Harneys as a leading firm in Cayman.”
Joss joins Harneys from Walkers where he practiced for 6 years in the firm’s Cayman and Jersey offices. Prior to moving offshore Joss worked for 8 years in the London, Warsaw and Paris offices of Linklaters. Admitted in both the Cayman Islands and British Virgin Islands, Joss’ areas of expertise include offshore funds, cross-border corporate transactions and banking and finance matters.
Joss is the third new Cayman partner to be recruited by Harneys this year. In March, Sean Scott joined from Maples and Calder and Timothy Bridges from Ogier. Other recent appointments were Patrick Colegrave and Louise Groom both of whom joined from Walkers in late 2011, and Alexia Adda who joined the litigation team in May.
Cayman partner Marco Martins commented: “We are delighted that lawyers of this calibre and experience are choosing to join us; it stands testament to the increasing reputation of our Cayman offering, our collegiate, friendly culture and our dedication to providing a commercial and diligent service to our global client base.”
