Hogan Lovells Recruits Insurance Partner in London

Hogan Lovells has recruited Helen Chapman as a partner in the Insurance & Reinsurance Group. She joined the firm on Monday 25 June.

Helen joined the firm from Pool Reinsurance Company Limited where she was General Counsel and Company Secretary.

This is a return to Hogan Lovells for Helen as she worked for the firm for nine years before going to Pool Re for 18 months. Helen has very broad experience in the insurance and reinsurance sector having worked in-house for both Pool Re and Willis, the global broker.

She will be primarily focussing on non-contentious insurance and reinsurance work, advising on all aspects of insurance law and regulation in the UK. Her particular expertise lies in the design and drafting of insurance and reinsurance products and distribution arrangements. Her role will also cover contentious insurance matters.

Patrick Sherrington, co-head of the litigation, arbitration and employment group said: “Helen has extensive experience of contentious and non-contentious matters in the insurance and reinsurance sector and she is an important part of our strategy to grow the insurance practice at Hogan Lovells.”

Christian Wells, an insurance partner at Hogan Lovells for the past 26 years, is currently splitting his time between Hogan Lovells and Pool Re, where he has been appointed General Counsel and Company Secretary.
