DLA Piper Appoints New Partner to IPT Practice

DLA Piper is pleased to announce that Florence Guthfreund-Roland will be joining the Paris office as a partner effective July 2, 2012. Florence Guthfreund-Roland will be responsible for the telecommunications sector and practice in Paris, with a particular focus on African related work and projects.

Prior to joining DLA Piper, Florence was a partner at Simmons & Simmons for five years where she led the Information, Communication and Technology group in Paris. She has also previously been a partner at Morgan Lewis and De Pardieu, Brocas, Maffei.

Florence is a renowned specialist in telecommunications, advising on both contentious and non-contentious aspects. She represents multinational companies on a range of matters including telecommunications, media law, technology and outsourcing, data privacy and security, Internet and e-commerce. Florence has also an extensive knowledge of regulatory regimes across Africa and significant experience on commercial and contract law, outsourcing transactions and PPP projects.

The arrival of Florence further strengthens DLA Piper’s IPT practice in Paris, but also the global telecoms practice which is very active at DLA Piper, in particular in Africa, Middle East and Asia.
