Sandvik has entered into a five year strategic outsourcing agreement valued at approximately SEK 2 billion with IBM. Through the agreement, Sandvik will outsource a significant part of its global IT infrastructure services, including data center and workplace services (consisting of all PC-related services), and IBM will offer employment to Sandvik’s resources currently working in these areas. The agreement strengthens the internal business solution for Sandvik IT and reflects Sandvik’s ambition to be a globally integrated company.
Sandvik is a high-technology, engineering group with business conducted worldwide through representation in more than 130 countries. The group had 50,000 employees with annual sales of more than SEK 94 billion in 2011. Sandvik is a listed company on the Stockholm Stock Exchange, NASDAQ OMX.
