Ogier have announced that Julie Melia joined the firm as a Partner and Co-Head of the Property Law Group on 2 July. Julie is a senior Advocate with 20 years of experience in Jersey and is very well respected in the local property industry by clients, intermediaries and her peers.
Julie joined Ogier from Walkers where she was a Partner and head of Walkers’ Jersey Property Team. She specialises in all aspects of Jersey property including commercial acquisitions and leases, residential development schemes and planning issues, mergers and acquisitions, property finance and residential purchases and sales. Julie will also be joined at Ogier by members of her existing team from Walkers.

Ogier have also announced that Peter Bertram will be taking a sabbatical from the beginning of July until his official retirement from the partnership in January 2013. Peter joined Le Masurier, Giffard & Poch (a predecessor firm of Ogier) in 1981 and became a partner in 1986. Matthew Swan said “I would like to wish him all the best for the future and to thank him for his contribution to the Ogier Group over the last 30 years.”
